Bill joined Sparks Willson in 2009 and is an associate in our corporate and transactional group. His practice emphasizes representation of companies in their general corporate matters, including entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and contract issues. Bill also specializes in the representation of sports entities, athletes and coaches in contract negotiations, corporate governance, compliance, grievances, and eligibility issues.
Bill is an active member of the Sports Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association Section on Entertainment and Sports. He is active in Colorado Springs Rotary and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cordera Community Association.
Prior to joining the firm, Bill was a senior associate in both the Commercial Law and Securities and the Sports Transactions groups with Holme Roberts & Owen, LLP. Prior to that, he formed his own sports agency and law practice, Robers Management Group, in Orange County, California, where he represented coaches and NFL athletes after practicing corporate law for five years with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Los Angeles.
Bill graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was an associate editor of The Minnesota Law Review and president of the Entertainment and Sports Law Students Association. He earned his M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with concentrations in both finance and marketing.
Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, golfing, running, and officiating football. |
