Paul W. Hurcomb
Paul joined our firm in June 2001. His practice focuses on employment law and commercial litigation.
Paul’s employment law practice focuses on advising and defending employers in a full range of employment issues. He has represented clients in claims and litigation alleging unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful discharge. Paul provides proactive counseling to his clients in a variety of areas, such as avoiding wrongful termination and discrimination claims, employee discipline, protecting trade secrets and confidential information, drafting employment and executive agreements, independent contractor agreements, employment policies and handbooks, negotiating severance agreements, and lay-offs. He is also provides advice to clients about compliance with federal and state law, including Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Colorado Wage Claim Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, I-9 compliance and audits, and compliance with Colorado's employment verification and authorization requirements.

Paul’s commercial litigation practice includes cases involving contract disputes, secured parties’ rights, real estate, and other general business litigation matters.
Prior to joining our firm, Paul served as a JAG in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate Corps where he gained substantial litigation and courtroom experience as both a prosecutor and defense counsel. He also represented the Air Force in a variety of employment law matters, such as employee discipline, wrongful discharge, issues related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, and discrimination claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Paul is active in many local organizations including the Colorado Bar Association, El Paso County Bar Association, and Ben Wendelken Inn of Court. He is currently serving a two-year term as a trustee of the El Paso County Bar Association.  He is also a past president of the Colorado Springs Notre Dame Alumni Club and past president and board member of the Boulder Park Neighborhood Association.
