Ben Sparks

Mr. Sparks joined the firm in March of 1994 after working in Silicon Valley at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for four years. He is admitted to practice in both Colorado and California.

His practice focuses on corporate law, with an emphasis on acquisitions, corporate finance and technology licensing.   Ben spends significant development time with entrepreneurs of start-up companies.

Ben earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1985.  Ben graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law with a J.D. in 1989.  He was Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Journal of International Law. He spent one year as a Rotary Scholar in Nepal between college and law school.

Ben was the head of the Colorado Bar Association Business Law Section for two years and is an author for the Colorado Bar Association.  Ben is chairman of the Joseph Henry Edmondson Foundation, a private foundation focused on charitable giving in the Pikes Peak region.  He is also on the board of directors of the Viola Vestal Coulter Foundation, a scholarship foundation.

Ben is a native of Colorado Springs and has climbed about half of Colorado fourteeners.  His current avocation is doubles squash.   He has two college age children that are unspeakably fun. Ben’s father, Ken Sparks, is the founder of our firm and they practiced together for 14 years.  Our firm continues to focus on benefitting our clients through long-term lawyer retention, which was a mantra for Ken Sparks.
